Upcoming Deadlines

There are a few things coming up that you might have missed in recent EFA bulletins - a couple require action in the next week.

Post 16 Funding

Speaking to schools and academies with 6^th forms – a number seem unaware on the approaching deadline for Individual Learner Records (ILR). More info → The Individualised Learner Record R04 data collection for the 2015 to 2016 funding year opens at 6.00 pm on Monday 23^rd November and closes at 6.00 pm on Friday 4^th December. If you are due to make a return for R04, you must submit your data to the Hub. EFA funded providers who return the ILR are expected to make a full data return at R04 as we will use this to calculate 2016 to 2017 allocations. A maintenance schedule listing future collection dates and proposed system maintenance is available on GOV.UK. Academy Trusts – Please note

Reminder: Accounts return webinar on the 2^nd December covering the August academies accounts return.The webinar will include a live question and answer session, and a discussion about the most challenging aspects of the accounts return. More info → Action: All academy trusts including free schools, studio schools and University Technical Colleges (UTCs) incorporated on or before 28^th February 2015 must submit audited accounts (annual report, financial statements and auditor’s management letter) for the period ending 31^st August 2015 to EFA by 31^st December 2015. The EFA have published a guide to help you submit your trust’s accounts. You should read this guide before completing an online cover sheet and submitting your accounts and auditor’s management letter using the document exchange within EFA’s Information Exchange. Professional Standards For Business Managers

NASBM has launched the 'NASBM Professional Standards' – a suite of standards for school business management professionals, comparable to those already available for other staff in schools.

These standards are intended to:

• Set out the core and specialist areas of competence required to be successful in the school business management professional role;
• Assist those currently working in, or aspiring to work in, the school business management profession to perform their role as expertly as possible;
• Set out the content of both initial and continuing professional development for those entering or developing their career in the profession;
• Provide a framework for the development of qualifications and other professional recognition for school business management professionals.
