Academies chart of accounts 2024-25 update

The ESFA have today published the Academies Chart of Accounts for 2024-25

There are several new codes and description changes and Trusts should review these and ensure the changes are reflected in their accounting systems.

Importantly, there are several new ICT codes that support the detailed analysis now required by the DfE in the Budget Forecast Return. We recommend that Trusts incorporate these new codes in to their budgets for 2024/25 onwards now, to make it easier to complete the BFR over the coming weeks and to ensure actual costs are collected in the relevant categories from September 2024.
