Statutory maternity and sick pay rates for 2018/19
The government has recently announced the changes to statutory maternity and sick pay rates in 2018. This includes maternity, adoption, paternity and shared parental pay.
The weekly rate for maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental pay will increase from
£140.98 to
£145.18 with effect from 1 April 2018.
The weekly rate of statutory sick pay is also increasing from
£89.35 to
£92.05. This increase is expected to occur on 6 April 2018.
To be entitled to these statutory payments, employees' average earnings must be equal to or more than the lower earnings limit, which will increase to £116 per week in April 2018.
