Let's get ready to Census (SIMS)

Please note the fileset download and guides have been updated since the original post
Please do make sure you have completed any analysis before you request this patch, because once they're gone they're gone!
However, we do have the latest Fileset for you which is 1605 so hit the download button and unzip the folder. Now open SIMS and go to Tools | Setups | Import and click the yellow folder button to browse to the fileset, simply highlight it and choose Open then use the Import Fileset button. Remember, you'll need to close and open SIMS again for it to take affect.

01/10/20 is the Autumn Census day this year, so let's make a start, get those dry runs on the go and get ahead of the game!
This year will be slightly different due to the cancellation of the May Census, so let's go through the changes:
- Termly attendance will not be collected, instead Attendance Data will be collected between 13/04/20 - 31/07/20
- Exclusions Data will be collected between 01/09/19 - 31/07/20
- FSM Data will be collected between 17/01/20 - 01/10/20
And if you're a Secondary:
- Learning Aims will be collected between 01/08/19 - 01/10/20
- Prior Attainment is based solely on the 'history' of GCSE Language grades
- Post 16 Programme Aims must be allocate a type of Study Programme, T Level or T Level Transition
Now let's talk Attendance:
Remember those extra temporary codes (7,8,9) you may have added to help with the analysis of Covid 19 Attendance? Well you shouldn't be using them now, you should have reverted back to X and Is. If you have accidentally put a few in for this year just pop back into edit marks and swap them back. For all those ones you used during lockdown in the period up to 31/07/20 we now have Patch 25918 available to remove these on bulk for you and the screen shot below shows you which code will be entered instead.
New! Exclusion Reason
There's also a new Exclusion Reason for this year that will start to be reported on in the Spring. Again its just a phone call away to request Patch 26010.
PH - Wilful and repeated transgression of protective measures in place to protect public health The DfE is aware that this new code is being introduced at very short notice and knows that the new code may not be available in the software if required at the start of this academic year. So they suggest that an alternative code is used until this new code is available.
