New SIMS Remote Service – Power BI Cover Manager Reports

The SIMS Cover Module is a very powerful tool but the reporting and analysis of your cover data has always been very limited. SBS have produced a Power BI report that utilises information from Cover as well as Student and Lesson Monitor that allows your school to understand and monitor.

• Cover supervisor usage and how well you are using their time
• The impact of staff absence on students and the curriculum

Features

• SLT Dashboard showing breakdown of Working Days lost to cover by subject for the last 60 days, Total Supply Spend, % Student Lessons Lost, Average Covers per student.
• Cover Manager Dashboard showing above for any date range in the school year.
• Supply Cover Analysis including Subject, Class, Date of deployed Supply staff, Average cost and % utilisation (value for money) for any date range in the school year.
• Cover Supervisor Analysis shows analysis of your use of Cover Supervisors by Subject, Class, Date. Measure the % utilisation of your Cover supervisors compared to Supply spend over the same period.
• Top Features Page allows you to find the most covered classes, staff requiring and delivering the most covers over any date range in the school year.
• Affected Students Page allows you to assess the impact of cover on vulnerable groups to individual student level, including lesson attendance over the same period. Are your students attending but missing out?
• Curriculum Impact Analysis allows analysis of the number of student lessons impacted by cover over any period by subject. Data can be filtered by vulnerable groups. Are your Pupil Premium students in Y11 missing out in Maths, Science and English?
• Cover Distribution shows the distribution of the total covers for each student, further broken down by year. This helps you to understand the range of the impact on students. If you know the average number of covers per child, do you know who has been the most and least affected by staff absence?
• You can also drill through to more detailed pages giving you further insight in to how staff availability is affecting your school.

The package costs £250 and includes the Power BI report, SIMS Data extraction tool, 1 hour installation and training and minor upgrades for 12 months.
